Good Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything new patients tend to ask — about insurance, your first visit, comfort, costs, and care. Still curious? Just reach out.

Do you accept my insurance?

We're in-network with most major PPO plans — Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, Guardian and more. Even if we're out-of-network with your carrier, we file your claims for you and most patients still receive substantial benefits. Use our insurance look-up tool or call us and we'll verify your specific coverage before your visit.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first visit runs about 60–75 minutes. We review your health history, take digital X-rays and photos, perform a comprehensive exam and oral-cancer screening, and finish with a gentle cleaning when time allows. You'll leave with a clear, written treatment plan and an upfront cost estimate — no surprises.

How often should I come in for a cleaning?

For most healthy adults, every six months keeps plaque and tartar in check and lets us catch small problems early. Patients with gum disease, diabetes, or a history of frequent cavities may benefit from a three- or four-month schedule. We tailor the interval to your mouth, not a one-size-fits-all rule.

I have dental anxiety. How do you help nervous patients?

You're in good company — a lot of our patients used to dread the dentist. We go at your pace, explain everything before we do it, offer noise-cancelling headphones and blankets, and provide nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral sedation when helpful. Tell us at booking and we'll build extra time into your visit.

At what age should my child first see a dentist?

The first dental visit should happen by your child's first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth. Early visits are short, friendly, and focused on building comfort — plus they let us guide healthy habits before problems start.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes. We offer interest-free in-house payment plans for many treatments, and we accept CareCredit and Cherry for longer-term, low-monthly-payment financing. Our financing calculator gives you an instant estimate, and our coordinator will walk you through the options that fit your budget.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call us first — we reserve same-day slots for emergencies and walk you through what to do over the phone. For a knocked-out tooth, keep it moist (in milk or saliva) and get to us within the hour for the best chance of saving it. For severe swelling, trouble breathing or swallowing, go to the ER.

Are dental X-rays safe?

Yes. We use digital sensors that cut radiation by up to 80% versus old film, and a single set of bitewings exposes you to less radiation than a few hours in the sun or a short airplane flight. We only take the images we genuinely need, and we shield you with a lead apron and thyroid collar.

How long does teeth whitening last and is it safe?

Professional whitening is safe under our supervision and typically lasts 1–3 years depending on your coffee, tea, wine and tobacco habits. Some patients feel temporary sensitivity that fades within a day or two; we use desensitizing gels to keep you comfortable.

How much does Invisalign cost and how long does it take?

Most Invisalign cases run 6–18 months depending on complexity, with cost similar to traditional braces. After a free consult and 3D scan, we give you an exact price, a treatment timeline, and a preview of your final smile — then break it into manageable monthly payments.
